We are told that there are no new frontiers to conquer, but this is the attitude of those who despair today, who despaired yesterday, and who will still be at it during the rest of their lives. We dare not follow such an attitude of mind. It has been well stated that ‘the pioneer is a creature not of time but of spirit.’

Where is Our Path Taking Us?

Many are stubborn in pursuit of the path they have chosen, few in pursuit of the goal.

—Friedrich Nietzsche (Public domain)

…Every one of us gets up each day and takes a set course of actions until nightfall. We do it, more often than not, through simple rote. We have forged a channel in the ground which has become our life, and the more we repeat that path, day in and day out, the deeper the channel becomes, and the more difficult it will be to escape.

That is fine, as long as the trench we have formed leads us to where we want to go! We were put here with Divine Purpose. No matter what our age or abilities, we should be in pursuit of a grand goal, and we need to keep the vision of that goal burning bright within our minds.

By keeping our thoughts disciplined and focused on the achievement of what we pursue, it becomes quite clear whether or not we are on the right path. If we are, let’s proceed with energy and passion. If we are not, let’s undertake the task of digging ourselves out and charting a new course.

For the eyes of the world now look into space, to the moon and to the planets beyond, and we have vowed that we shall not see it governed by a hostile flag of conquest, but by a banner of freedom and peace. But it will be done. And it will be done before the end of this decade.
